Review: ‘The Mahabharat Secret’ is the first work of Christopher C. Doyle. This book is a wonderful combination of fantasy-fiction, thriller, and mythology and mastered with the imagination and observation of the author.
Most of us have grown up listening to the story of Mahabharat and as we are unaware of the fact that there is any secret behind the Mahabharat, makes the name more interesting. The readers will grab the book just to find out what secret can the Mahabharat hide. I liked the cover and the key on the cover is very much significant to the story. Overall the first impression of the book was good.
The story idea of the book is worth applauding. The writer has merged historical facts, legends and mythical stories with fictitious parts really well. As a book, the book keeps the reader hooked all throughout. Though as the story proceeds, the plot (not the mystery) becomes predictable, monotonous. The ending of the story though is not extraordinary but stands out.
It was something satisfying the difference between fact and fiction that was tactfully merged in a way, it renders one curious in the end of the book which of the mentions in book is actually a fact or legend; and which is pure fiction.
Final Words: “A suspense thriller served with large helpings of history makes for a good in-flight read.”_Vivek Tejuja
